Maybe Yes, Maybe No...We shall see. 🤔
Hi Income Flippers,
Have you ever had one of those weeks (in business) where things didn't go according to plan?
It's only Thursday and I feel like my week started off that way.
Let me explain...
1) I lost a deal we thought we had to a competitor (it was actually 2 properties). Urgh!
2) My plane was delayed for 3 hours and I missed my connection. No biggie.
3) The next connecting flight had a 3-hour layover. I made the most of it.
4) I missed the connecting flight because I failed to "check-in" on time and my seat was given away to someone on standby. Um...what?
5) I finally arrived at my destination 18 hours later needing some serious sleep.
I woke up the next day refreshed and ready to celebrate the launch of our newest GRID Community in Sun Valley, but I still had that stinking feeling you get when you lose something you thought you had.
I then reflected on a parable that was shared at our company advance that immediately took me out of my funk.
As soon as the funk went away guess what happened next...
1) The GRID Sun Valley launch was an amazing success, thanks to Sonja Huntsman and the Elevate Team.
2) A client called me and said they wanted to list their home ASAP.
3) Our team put a bunch of properties under contract.
4) I got an offer on a problem property I own.
One of the deals I thought I lost might end up being my next investment purchase!
So you never know what is just right around the corner...
Here is the parable:
Maybe Yes, Maybe No...We shall see.
When the horse returned, followed by a herd of wild horses, the neighbors gathered around and exclaimed, “What good luck for you!”
The farmer stayed calm and replied: “Maybe yes, maybe no, we shall see...”

While trying to tame one of the wild horses, the farmer’s son fell and broke his leg.
He had to rest up and couldn’t help with the farm chores. “How sad for you,” the neighbors cried.“Maybe yes, maybe no, we' shall see...” said the farmer.
Shortly thereafter, a neighboring army threatened the farmer’s village. All the young men in the village were drafted to fight the invaders.
Many died. But the farmer’s son had been left out of the fighting because of his broken leg. People said to the farmer, “What a good thing your son couldn’t fight!”

“Maybe yes, maybe no, we shall see...” was all the farmer said. So the moral of the story is this...
Bad things happen and good things happen, and yet we never really never know how life's events will truly unfold.
Maybe missing the plane was good luck?
Maybe winning the contract was bad luck?
Maybe yes, maybe no...we shall see.
All we can do is keep moving forward!!!
Rob
