Thoughts from Australia🦘
Good morning, Income Flippers!
I'm currently staring at Sydney Bay feeling gratitude that I live in a reality that allows me to do this.
You see....37 years ago, I had the good fortune of living in Australia while my father served as Consul General.
My parents were in their early 40's raising two young kids (me 12 and my sis 7) in a country filled with beauty, adventure and danger and we had the good fortune experience all of it!
What a blessing.
My sister and I have brought my parents back to stroll down memory lane and show our own families the backdrop of all our stories.
So far, we have visited where she went to the school, the park I hung out at with all my friends (doing not so legal things) and the home we lived in on Darling Point (currently under renovation).
I woke up early this morning to do some early stretching, watch the sunrise over coffee and start this newsletter...magical.
Our adventure here has just begun but has already proven to be everything I dreamed of.
You see, this started as an idea more than 10 years ago—"How cool would it be to take everyone to Australia?"
At the time it was just a little seed of an idea, not anything that was a goal or plan. Just an idea.
As life got busy I put that idea on the shelf and went on with my life but as my parents got older that idea kept whispering in my head "tomorrow is not promised, your window to do this with your parents is closing."
So I acted.
One night, while having dinner with my parents I set the vision for the trip and solicited buy in. That same night I purchased the tickets, I knew that if I set the intention and backed it up with a commitment that it would get cemented in reality.
And here we are, 37 years later making that little idea a reality.
As I reflect on this past year I realize that the process of starting a business follows the same formula I outlined above.
Start with an idea.
Create a vision.
Recruit people to the vision.
Start by making a commitment.
You see, next year we are launching our Sell Simpli brand nationally and it all started with an idea.
1) Idea: Every real estate team should have an investment division.
2) Vision: Imagine each team lead adding an additional 25-35% in revenue to their business and generating a steady stream of investment deals.
3) Recruit: I called team leaders and pitched the idea—they loved it! I knew it had a good chance because the idea originated from a few of my friends that ran large teams (the market will tell you what it wants).
4) Start: I hired an attorney to create the operating agreement based on how we want to operate this new business.
But my vision was bigger than Sell Simpli.
I dreamed about converting our GRID brand to the platform that powers all our brands (CAZA, SellSimpli, SimpliFunded, and Home Pro) which would provide a vehicle for our partners and community to invest along side us.
So while I am here in Australia I am laying the foundation for the next evolution of growth.
