It's been the single best source of business we have ever created.
We generate millions of dollars a year in business directly and indirectly from our community. People ask me all the time, "how did you build this?" And my answer has always been the same..."consistency."
But as I reflect more on what it really takes to build a community, one word comes to mind...
Love.
You need to love the community.
You need to love the passion, dream and struggle of the entrepreneur.
You need to love and care for the growth of your members.
You need to love the process.
You need to love the game.
This doesn't work unless you truly love what you do.
The community can feel your intention.
The community can spot a fraud.
Which is why some communities thrive and others fade.
I see real estate investor communities sprout up all the time only to shut down within a year.
They shut down because the intention of the leader was on subtraction vs addition.
In other words, they asked themselves...
"What can I GET from the community today?" vs
"What can I GIVE the community today?"
That mindshift makes all the difference.
But here is the catch....
That feeling of service, love and commitment can't be faked.
Sure...someone can pretend for a while but time will reveal their true intention.
You see... givers get energy from the act of giving which means that they can stay consistent over a long period of time.
And like the nuclear fusion of the sun, that "giving energy" shines bright across the community which helps it to thrive.
So as I sit here taking in the rays of the sun on Bondi Beach, I am reminded that our community will only grow to the extent of my commitment, my resolve, my love.
