The Making of a GOD
Hey Income Flippers,
I just finished watching the Netflix series—Alexander, The Making of God.
What struck me was the profound impact that cultivating a positive psychology can have on shaping our world.
I'm sure you have heard the quote, "What would you do if you knew you could not fail?"
That is exactly what Alexander believed.
When he was 20, his mother told him that he was the son of Zeus. No pressure 🙂
He then proceeded to prove to himself "he was" by doing hard and impossible things.
With each battle, his confidence grew.
And in 331 BC, he took Babylon from Persia and was made a living GOD by the Egyptians.
Can you imagine?
What could you accomplish if you believed you were a Demigod?
In this newsletter, in 5 minutes or less, I will explore how we can create the thoughts and feelings that Alexander must have experienced 2000 years ago, that made him one of the greatest figures the world has ever seen.
I want you to explore your memories and think back on a time when it all just clicked.
When you felt powerful, strong, happy, and grateful all at the same time.
When everything just felt right.
When you felt a hum, vibration, and power that made you feel invincible.
That was your flow state.
I want you to tap into that feeling.
That feeling is what I call GOD mode.
It's a creative state.
A state with no limits.
If you can learn to tap into that source you can build anything. Do anything.
It's the force.
It's gratitude.
It's love.
It's what Alexander must have felt.
I have intensely felt this at different times in my life.
One time, in particular, stands out because it was laced with such intensity that it is forever seared into my soul.
I was a senior in high school and it was the finals of the State Wrestling Championship (sounds pretentious, I know...but humor me). 🙂
I was facing the returning State Champion.
I remember thinking "This is it. All your pain, all your hard work, all your adversity, all your sacrifice comes down to this moment. Nobody is taking this away. This is yours."
I felt, strong, powerful, and ready.
In fact, I remember tearing up just before I ran onto the mat as I thought to myself... "This is my moment."
The next 6 minutes were a blur.
I was in flow.
Everything just clicked.
And then it was done.
I looked up and realized I had just beaten the returning state champion 18 to 6.
I wasn't tired, I didn't struggle, and it didn't come down to the wire.
I was in flow and it came with ease.
What I learned that day would set me up for the rest of my life.
Prepare.
Work hard.
Believe.
Action.
Flow.
It became a recipe.
But entering into "flow" is tricky because as soon as you are aware you are in it, you take yourself out.
You have to let your mind-body connection take over.
It's like being in a trance.
The question becomes, how do we enter flow?
How can we tap into this GOD mode on purpose?
I have yet to learn how to enter flow "at will" but what I have learned, is how to set up my environment in a way that increases my chances of it happening.
Here is how...
1) Morning routine.
2) Environment that inspires me.
3) A cup of coffee.
4) A notebook (no lines) and a pen.
5) Thoughts of no limits.
6) Drawing and writing what I see and feel.
7) Immediate action on my vision.
My wrestling career has long been over and yet I wake up every day competing.
But not with anyone else except myself.
The goal being, to be better than the day before.
Always working towards my vision.
Reminding myself that the only limits I have are the ones I create in my mind.
There are no rules.
So let me ask you a question...
What could you create if you knew you could not fail?
Always Forward,
Rob
