From Austin, Texas with love 😘
Hey Income Flippers,
I’m currently in Austin, Texas learning from some of the best real estate entrepreneurs in the world.
Today in 10 minutes or less you are going to get access to:
✔ The 12 mistakes we make when we bring people into our lives.
✔ How Molly Bloom (author of Molly’s Game) made her comeback.
✔ Wise words from one of the greatest real estate coaches in the world.
I’m sitting here listening to Gary Keller and Jay Papasan talk about the 12 mistakes we make when we bring people into our lives.
This is a powerful conversation that we all need to internalize if we want to build a big business.
1) Not always looking for talent. You need to always be looking for talent.
2) Not hiring killers. If you are a killer you need to hire a killer. You should always be looking for talent. Hire people better than you.
3) Hiring people that need to change. You can’t change people. Hire great people from day 1.
4) Waiting for a replacement before replacing. Business is easy but people are hard. If it’s not working out —end it. Play the long game.
5) Failing to help people grow. People are going to have to grow with you. You need to grow and then you need to help your people grow.
6) Buying into say versus do. Pay attention to what people do and accomplish. Not what they say they are going to do.
7) Failing to inspect what you expect. Go through the numbers but also pay attention to the qualitative. Make sure people are matching your values and standards.
8) Not letting goals be the bad guy. Hold people accountable for their goals. “I can be kind but the goals are the immovable object.”
9) Propping people up. Don’t take the job back. Don’t build co-dependence for the job. You are setting people up for a hard fall when you help them do their job.
10) Failing to listen to our way to success. The person that asks the most questions wins. Authorship is ownership.
11) Running on personality gas instead of organizational gas. Create goals with models, plans, and systems.
12) Leading from Mego instead of Wego. You are going to have to slow down to speed up. Help other people succeed. It’s about we, not me.
Remember: The company works for the people.
If you haven’t watched Molly’s Game, stop reading this and go watch it immediately. It’s a fascinating story of hustle, grit and resilience.
Watching her from the stage was a real treat, she was everything I was hoping she would be
Here are my 10 key takeaways:
1) Take radical responsibility of your life.
2) Observe your thoughts and release the negative ones.
3) You have permission to yell at the negative voices in your head. You become the master. You decide on where to go.
4) Make people feel seen, heard, and remembered.
5) Cultivate relationships. Go deep with people.
6) Don’t lose your integrity.
7) Focus on the details and offer the best experience.
8) Believe in yourself when no one else does.
9) Show up and refuse to give up.
10) You have as many chances as you are willing to take.
It was a powerful discussion about grit, perseverance, and the power of believing in yourself.
Advice from one of the greatest real estate coaches ever...Tony Dicello.
1) Plan the work and work the plan.
2) Be patient.
3) Fight for your people. Care about their goals more than they do.
4) Be a great listener.
5) Hold people accountable. “Do you want to do the actions and hit your goal or do we need to change the goal?”
6) Coaching is nothing more than holding people accountable to their numbers. Love them enough to help them stay focused.
A good coach is going to tell you the following:
“I am going to help you get to your goal, there are days you are going to like me and days you are not going to like me. My job is to help you hit your goals.”
7) This is a math problem, the game is simple. Consistency and lead generation is the secret sauce.
Tony has a way to make the complex simple, which is what makes him such a great coach.
Hope this added a little value to your life today. If it did please let me know. I love hearing from you.
Go crush it!
